What are “Booster Infusions?”

We offer a variety of different booster infusions and supplement replacements.  Every infusion is specialized with specific goals in mind and each is individually crafted for the specific individual seeking treatment.  These are not pre-ordered or pre-made ahead of time.  The amount of each supplement or medication being added is based on the individual’s weight and then added just before the infusion is started.  Below is some information about each of the different infusions we offer so you can see which is right for you.

Intravenous (IV) infusions for pain have been around for over 20 years.  Some of the top academic hospitals in the world use them every single day to treat things like Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS), Fibromyalgia, and even Trigeminal Neuralgia.  The most popular medications for IV pain infusions are ketamine and lidocaine.  Two of the biggest reasons people choose the Ainsworth Institute for these treatments are:

1) We go through your insurance: Most places charge cash for ketamine infusions.  At Ainsworth, we are able to negotiate with nearly all insurance companies, even Medicare, to cover the cost of the infusions to save our patients money.  Aside from deductibles or copays, the only thing our patients pay for is the cost of the ketamine which averages about $15 to $20 per infusion

2) We do our infusions in our outpatient clinic: Many academic centers require patients to be admitted to the hospital for several days to get what many refer to as the “ketamine coma.”  Over the last 10 years, we’ve developed an outpatient protocol that delivers the same results with just 6 infusion sessions that are roughly 4 hours each!

People have never been more focused on their immune systems than they are right now.  Boosting your immune system is a healthy, natural way to increase your body’s natural ability to fight infections and shorten the time you feel sick.  There are certain vitamins and minerals that the body needs to create white blood cells and antibodies in sufficient numbers to adequately fight infections – unfortunately we are not always able to get enough of what we need for our immune systems in our diets.  By intravenously infusing high doses of Vitamin C, zinc and certain amino acids, we are able to get your immune system firing on all cylinders and fast.

It takes a lot to perform at a high level.  Athletes train for days on end to be able to push themselves harder for longer.  While diet and exercise are crucial to reaching one’s goals, they aren’t always enough. Whether you are training or competing, muscles take time to build and even more time to recover.  The demand on an athlete’s body at the cellular level is significantly higher as it requires larger amounts of specific amino acids to be able to build enough protein to keep your muscles at the level they need to be able to perform.  Directly infusing amino acids, vitamins and minerals is an easy, safe and LEGAL way to improve your body’s performance and decrease downtime.

Are you waking up from a 8 hours of sleep but feel like you only slept for 4? Drinking coffee throughout the day just to stay functional?  Our bodies always find a way to tell us when something is wrong.  We crave iron-rich foods when we are anemic, we get lightheaded when our blood sugar is low, and we get tired when we certain vitamins & minerals are too low.  Intravenous infusions of vital supplements are an easy and safe way to get your body back to its normal levels.  The results noticeable within just a few hours.

While diet and exercise are the mainstays for losing weight, sometimes they just aren’t enough to help keep the weight off.  For some, they always feel hungry and it becomes hard to keep turning down food day after day.  Our appetites guide us to eat what our body needs on a cellular level.  We crave sugar when our blood sugar is low…we crave foods rich in iron when we need iron…we get thirsty when we are dehydrated.  The feeling of constant hunger may just be your body telling you that you are low on certain vitamins and/or minerals and wants you to eat to get them back up.  So along with a healthy diet, weight management infusions are an easy and safe way to increase those levels without feeling like you need to skip a meal.

Some people are predisposed to having lower amounts of certain vitamins and minerals.  While there are a number of reasons why this can occur, one of the most common reasons is the inability to absorb enough from our food when it passes through the GI tract.  In cases like these, taking oral supplements still may not fix the problem because those supplements are susceptible to the same problem as food in that our bodies simply cannot get enough out and into the blood stream.  In the case of testosterone, certain medications like opioids can lower the body’s ability to make enough.  So with a simple blood test, we can see what elements or hormones your body is deficient in and then replace them with either an infusion or intramuscular shot.
